The game of Rugby is one of the fastest growing participation sports in Ireland, a game that goes further than just the 80 minutes on the pitch, as fans from both participating teams congregate in the bars and restaurants to discuss the match. If Rugby is a game which you are not familiar why not take the opportunity on your trip to take in a match. On the Wild Atlantic Way, you have the choice of taking in a match with either provincial team from Munster Rugby or Connacht Rugby. Munster Rugby play in Thomond Park in Limerick, were in 1978 they famously beat the touring New Zealand team, the mighty All Blacks. There is also a museum in the stadium giving you a history of Munster Rugby that is well worth a visit.
